Ang Mandavax ay isa sa pinakamalaking tagagawa ng bakuna sa Pilipinas, na may kapasidad sa produksyon na 100 milyong dosis bawat taon. Ano ang Mandavax?
Ang Mandavax ay isang pambansang programa ng bakuna ng Pilipinas, na pinamamahalaan ng Department of Health (DOH) sa pamamagitan ng National Vaccine Program Office (NVPO). Nagbibigay ang Mandavax ng mga libreng bakuna sa mga batang may edad na 6-23 buwan at sa kanilang mga ina/tagapag-alaga.
Ang layunin ng programa ay protektahan ang mga sanggol, bata, at mga buntis na kababaihan mula sa mga sakit na maiiwasan sa bakuna sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay sa kanila ng napapanahong access sa mga bakunang nagliligtas-buhay.
Sa ngayon, mahigit 23 milyong katao na ang nabakunahan ng DOH sa ilalim ng mandato ng Mandavax.
Ano ang mga bakuna na inaalok sa ilalim ng Mandavax?
Nag-aalok ang DOH ng tatlong uri ng bakuna sa ilalim ng Mandavax: diphtheria, tetanus at pertussis (DTaP), hepatitis B, at Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b). Inirerekomenda ang bakuna sa DTaP para sa lahat ng mga sanggol na may edad 12 linggo hanggang 6 na buwan; Inirerekomenda ang bakunang hib para sa lahat ng mga sanggol na may edad na 2 buwan hanggang 11 buwang gulang na hindi nakatanggap ng dosis ng bakunang varicella (chickenpox); at ang bakuna sa hepatitis B ay inirerekomenda para sa lahat ng mga kabataan na may edad na 11 taong gulang pataas na hindi pa nagkaroon ng nakaraang dosis ng bakuna sa hepatitis B.
